Health Update: Oil in the mind
WOMEN who swear by evening primrose oil for easing premenstrual tension may be benefiting from psychological rather than medical effects, according to a study carried out by researchers from the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm. A trial, reported in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, found the oil to be no more effective than a placebo of paraffin oil tablets.
