Health Update: Steroids don't stunt

PARENTS whose young children use inhaled steroids for their asthma are often worried that the drugs may affect their growth. But a new study should reassure them. Eighteen asthmatic children, aged four to seven, who were taking inhaled budesonide were studied over a year. Their growth rates were no different from those of the normal population.
