Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages (CSAB) is introducing a new version of its seasonal Pomegranate 7UP drink.
The beverage, which was first launched for the winter holiday season in 2007, will now be enriched with vitamin E, widely recognized for its antioxidant properties and which has even been linked to better immune functioning.
While the drink has no actual pomegranate juice and doesn't claim to boost immunity, the formulation of natural pomegranate flavoring and 7 UP's trademark lemon-lime soda will feature 10 percent of the recommended daily allowance of vitamin E in each serving (8 ounces), according to the company.
"With its natural pomegranate flavor and deep burgundy color, Pomegranate 7UP has become a festive hit during the holidays," said Dave Falk, director of marketing for 7UP in a news release. "Consumers have responded so favorably to Cherry 7UP Antioxidant, we're now giving them Pomegranate 7UP Antioxidant."
The caffeine-free drink will be available for a limited time during the Christmas season (until January 31) in 2-liter bottles and 12-packs in regular and diet varieties.
