Sleep better than sex, say tired Britons

Almost 80 per cent of Britons prefer a good night's sleep to sex, a survey has revealed.

Researchers from the Edinburgh Sleep Centre also found seven out of 10 have trouble sleeping and almost a quarter said they suffered from insomnia. The study of more than 8,500 people revealed 79.2 per cent admitted they preferred the thought of extra sleep to sex.

I've always thought one follows the other. Aren't these 'experts' aware of the gravity of the term 'sleeping together'?

Maybe people are so pressurized these days(due to the constant barrage of expectation heighening "how to be a great lover" information in the media) that performace anxiety is almost guarunteed at the very thought of it! I say we should get back to the notion of a quick bonk then some shut-eye, without the stress. A sports massager used in the spoons position can be a very mutually satisfactory day-to-day time/enegry saver after a hard day in the fields ;)

I have devised a cunning plan. I have sex then go to sleep afterwards. This allows me to partake of both activities therby negating the need to prioritise the preferred activiy and hence maximise dormary productivity.

The failsafe recipe for adequate, satisfying exercise and a good night's kip is sex, cycling and zzzzzzz. In that order.
I'm not surprised

Maybe, but it's never stopped us trying. Or perhaps it's because we're too busy thinking about sex all day that, when it comes to it, we're already worn out and just want to nod off.

Funny, I never abandoned the notion. The terms "do exotic things to me" & "multiple orgasms" might as well be a foreign language.
Nonsense

I would like to know the age range and occupations of respondents to this survey. I somehow doubt that the respondents are 8,500 university students, the outcome would be very different if they were. No suprise the survey is conducted by the Edinburgh SLEEP CENTRE who no doubt have something to gain in terms of funding with regards to the positive percentages in their favour...or perhaps I am just a sex-mad cinic, as, for me, the only good thing about sleep is having sex before it and after it.

While 8,500 university students can still, somehow, manage it during.

Hedley Chapman founded his factory in England in 1871 by manufacturing straw palliases for 3s6d a pair. By the early 1900's, as mattresses were becoming mass-produced and more sophisticated, Chapman was quick to establish a programme of modernization which would ensure his company would always be at the forefront of the interior sprung technology world.

If people prefer a good nights sleep than sex then there could be many reasons for this. If you have children and you dont want your mattress making a noise when having sex so you dont bothetr and just go to sleep its time to buy a memory foam mattress. these mattresses are made from visco elastic foam and are silent when you move about not like the old soring mattresses.
