Without contraception, a woman could on average give birth every 8.5 months and could, theoretically, have 25 children, according to research of a Finnish religious sect. Women members of the Laestadius sect, which does not practise contraception , had been pregnant at least 10 times, says a report in Fertility and Sterility.
