Seat belts can damage your health, says a Canadian doctor writing in the Lancet. He describes the case of a 70-year-old man who had five "funny turns" and two fainting attacks while driving, which occurred when he turned his head to the right. The seat belt was probably pressing on the man's carotid sinus - the symptoms disappeared once it was adjusted.
