July is an important month in global public health with the AIDS 2010 conference taking place in Vienna July 18-23, the International Conference on Emerging Infectious Diseases 2010 (ICEID 2010) ending on July 14 in Atlanta, Georgia and TEDGlobal 2010 begins in Oxford, England. Plus the world's fittest compete in the CrossFit Games 2010 on July 16.

UNICEF and the business culture blog PSFK have joined forces to ask the public to help them monitor "key trends that impact health and wellbeing" to find new innovations and partners that can translate into deliverable health solutions for children worldwide. The target areas of innovation are health, education, fitness, remote working, data use and the web, and children's products and services. If you have an idea, then submit an online form before early July and you never know how many lives you could impact.
International Conference on Emerging Infectious Diseases 2010 (ICEID 2010)

ICEID 2010 is the seventh annual conference hosted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in cooperation with global health leaders and organizations including the WHO. The professional event aims to identify new diseases to understand their cause, target and how to control them. There are 300 spaces held for students with admission at $250 (€204.77); regular registration is $475 (€387.75)
The four-day event is centered on 'And now the good news...' The event is sold-out but clips will be available on the web after the event. The sessions will address a number of social issues from peace to design. Health is a constant theme at TED events and this program has sessions focusing on 'The Unknown Brains,' 'Healthier Together' and 'Human Systems'.
CrossFit Games Finals 2010 (World Championship)

CrossFit Games are the final competition where the world's fittest have triumphed in 'regionals' and 'sectionals' around the world including Iceland and Australia to make it to the finals and be the winner of their section (male, female, over 50, teams) and get the $25,000 (€19,755) prize. The twist is all of the athletes competing have no clue what workouts they will have to endure of the three-day event. CrossFit is about metabolic conditioning and the workouts are used by various militaries. July 18 is Mandela Day, an international day recognized by the United Nations in honor of the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and former South African President Nelson Mandela's birthday where he celebrates by asking everyone to help make the world better, healthier and just. This year he is asking for you to set aside 67 minutes to do something healthy and offers a list of ideas. XVIII International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2010)
"Right Here, Right Now
" is the theme for this year's high-level meeting to hold world leaders and donors accountable as the 2010 deadline approaches for ensuring universal access to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support. Also, greater attention will be on the rapid growth of the epidemic in Central and Eastern Europe via injection drugs as well as more focus on human rights and care for vulnerable populations. Former US president Bill Clinton, South African Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi, and UNAIDS Executive Director Michel Sidibé are just a few of the speakers. The second annual festival held at the peaks of Squaw Valley is all about yoga, music and nature. This year it is expected to draw over 5,000 yogi partiers. Days are for downward dog with 40+ yoga instructors including the Village Anusara with YogaSlackers, a play lounge, hoop dance and meditation. 6th Annual Gluten Free Expo
