'Zumba Fitness' dance game gets a sequel

Fitness craze Zumba will release a new version of its top-selling Wii dance game this winter. Announced last week, the new game will feature customizable playlists and step-by-step tutorials from celebrity instructors.

Fans of the game can expect a North American release for Wii this winter for the holiday gift season, with news on its UK release date and other platform availability to be announced.

New additions from the original title include dance styles bellydancing, Latin pop, and Brazilian Axe to Zumba’s standard Reggaeton and salsa. Users can select their own musical playlists, choose one of five new locations as a dancing backdrop, and invite up to four friends to join in Zumba Party Mode. Zumba founder Beto guides you through the techniques along with celebrity instructors Tanya Beardsley and Gina Grant.

Other dance games designed to get you grooving include Xbox 360’s Dance Central, which picks up on a growing fashion for dancing games following the success of Ubisoft's Just Dance series on the Wii, Dance on Broadway spin-off for PlayStation 3 and a PS3 and Xbox Kinect version of Michael Jackson: The Experience.

Recent motion controller add-ons for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 have led to an increase in not only other dance games such as DanceMasters and Dance Paradise, but also fitness titles such as EA Sports Active 2 and Your Shape: Fitness Evolved.
