It's a flared cop

Last year we were treated to the Nissan Almera's ad-take on The Professionals. Now it's the turn of The Sweeney. Oooh yes, remember them and their lovely flares and sheepskin coats? This is bound to inspire a massive Sweeney fashion come-back. The best places to go for these tasty morsels are second-hand shops, where you can pick up tan, leather, tailored jackets and blousons, low-slung flares and nasty shoes for very little, because nobody wants them, although rather soon they will... Specialist retro fashion shops, such as The 1920s-1970s Crazy Clothes Connection, charge a bit more, but then the standard of fashion is invariably higher. If your mother instilled in you a deep fear of "used" clothing, saying you'd get nasty things from them, then you can get new variations, such as the Mister Shoes from Shellys (and, before you laugh, Elle used these in their April 1988 issue and sparked a major trend). annalisa barbieri
