Letter: Marx didn't want to explain society, he wanted to change it

I Guessed the author of this piece would be an Oxbridge graduate and that this would be the latest recycling of an old ideological philosophy and there it was, a story from two Oxford graduates of the 1980s.

It is not Marx that needs a comeback but Keynes. We are currently in the self-fulfilling prophecy of monetarism - old-style capitalism - so of course Marx becomes the critique. But the graveyards are full of people who followed Marx and it is a sad reflection of the lack of thinking in Oxbridge that rarely does anything new come along.Thank God there are Redbrick graduates to do the legwork.
