Letters: Scalpels out for 'mischievous, vicious, sensational, insulting' editor of 'Lancet'

I QUALIFIED in medicine in 1977. I have never come across behaviour remotely similar to that which Dr Horton describes. Arrogance at times, maybe; questionable judgement on occasions, yes; but I have never known a medical practitioner deliberately cause harm to a patient for any reason.

On the other hand, it is not uncommon for journalists to embellish lacklustre articles with unsubstantiated claims in order to create controversy.
