Hear... Elliot Carter talking to fellow composer George Benjamin. Possibly America's finest living composer, Carter might be forgiven for resting on his laurels as he approaches his 90th birthday. Carter at 90 offers the chance to experience his quicksilver wit and musical imagination. Followed by a premier performance of his Clarinet Concerto, and the double concerto for piano and harpsichord from 1961, and works by Babbitt, Lutoslawski and Oliver Knussen, who conducts.
