Auto agenda: Salon Privé, the M Festival
Friday 17 June 2011
Salon Privé, one of the smaller events which has seen its star rise as London's Motor Show ran out of gas, begins in the British capital June 22, while performance cars begin to gather at Germany's famous Nürburgring the day after.
London, United Kingdom
The luxury and supercar show fills at least some of the gap left by the absence of a British Motor Show, showcasing top-end marques in the beautiful surroundings of London's Syon Park. Alongside the cars will be a Concours d'Elégance and a new attraction, the world’s most comprehensive collection of surviving Group C Porsches.
The M Festival
Nürburgring, Nürburg, Germany
BMW visits Germany's legendary Nürburgring race track June 23 for a three day celebration of its performance M range. Fans of the brand will be treated to races, community events, camping and even a product unveiling, in the shape of the new M5.

A gruelling race around a track widely considered to be one of the world's most demanding, the 24-hour Nürburgring is a chance for a few cars to shine - and many more simply to hang on as they race around the 25 kilometer track.
89th Pikes Peak International Hill Climb
Colorado Springs, CO, USA
The 89th annual 'race to the clouds' looks to be as exciting as ever, as 190 drivers and racers battle it out in the world's most famous hill climb race. America's second-oldest car race takes in a dizzying 156 turns over the 20km course, and this year, an electric vehicle - the Nissan Leaf - is set to compete for the first time.
