Competition terms and conditions

Employees and their immediate families of The Independent, Saab Great Britain Limited, their dealers, their associated companies and their agencies, are not eligible for entry in the Prize Draw. All entries must include name, address, phone number, and email address. Entry to the Saab Ice Experience Prize Draw 2007 is free and is open to all residents in the UK aged 21 or over and holders of a full valid UK driving licence and all entrants must be medically fit and healthy. No purchase necessary. Closing date for receipt of entries is midnight 07/11/07. There will be one Winner. The winner will be notified on 21/11/07 by phone/email. The winner will be the first entry drawn by The Independent. The editor’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The Independent reserves the right to publish the name and county of the winner and the winner will allow photographs to be taken and used for the purposes of publicity.

The prize includes a guest adult travel companion (i.e. 2 Adults), return flights from London Heathrow to Stockholm, transfers to and from the airport in Stockholm and return internal flights from Stockholm to Kiruna, 1 night's stay in Stockholm on arrival and 2 nights' stay in Jukkasjarvi. Participation in a variety of organised activities and excursions such as Snowmobile, Husky sledges, and a stay at the world famous Ice Hotel (staying in same room (double)).The itinerary and activities are subject to weather conditions and availability and may be changed/cancelled by the Promoter at any time. There is no cash or other alternative to the Prize and the Prize is not transferable.

The 'Ice Experience' Prize does not include transfers to and from London Heathrow. The Winner must provide their own adequate travel insurance and personal belongings and injury insurance (winter sports) and the Winner will be responsible for all other costs prior to and after fulfilment of the prize and not otherwise provided herein including any additional excursions/trips or internal flights. The Saab 'Ice Experience' Prize will take place 6 to 9 March 2008.The Promoter reserves the right to make any necessary alterations to either the itinerary or the dates of travel or modify the prize. A Saab vehicle will be provided for use by the Winner of the 'Ice Experience' trip to use on the Ice Track. The named driver (whether the Winner or the guest adult travel companion on behalf of the Winner) must have no current disqualification or endorsements, or no more than 6 active points on his/her licence and must supply a copy of his/her driving licence in advance with identity in support in the form of a passport, if required. It is the Winner's responsibility to ensure that he/she or any guest adult driving on behalf of the Winner, complies with and follows any driving restrictions in Sweden. The Promoter will not be responsible for any fines or penalties incurred and will comply with any police or the requests of any other authorities to notify them of the name and address of the driver in accordance with applicable law. Please note that normal operator conditions apply and flights are subject to availability. The Promoter will not be responsible for any delays or cancellations and shall have no liability for the acts or defaults of the hotels or any transportation companies concerned. The Winner and any guest adult travel companion will be required to sign a release/disclaimer confirming their state of health and releasing the Promoter from any responsibility for health problems arising from his/her participation in the activities and excursions as some risk is involved due to the nature of the Prize.

Neither the promoter, nor The Independent will be liable for any circumstances beyond its reasonable control that prevent a prize being taken up by a winner. Any personal information collected may be used for marketing and research purposes by the Independent News and Media Group and Saab Great Britain Limited and may be passed on to third parties for these purposes.
