Frankfurt Motor Show 2011: Skoda unveils MissionL concept, plans glut of new products
Wednesday 14 September 2011
Skoda has unveiled a new concept vehicle at the Frankfurt Motor Show which it says is the start of a 'model offensive.'
The Czech automaker's new MissionL concept is a peek at a forthcoming production model likely to slot in somewhere between the Fabia and Octavia when it launches in India, Europe, Russia and China.
The model, set to take on competitors such as the Ford Focus and Opel/Vauxhall Astra, is the first in a slew expected from the automaker, with Skoda promising in a statement that it would present a new car approximately every six months over the next few years.
By 2018, Skoda intends to sell 1.5 million vehicles every year, focusing on emerging makets such as China and India.
The MissionL is on display at the Frankfurt Motor Show, which runs September 15-25 in Frankfurt, Germany.
