Vauxhall unveils new super-economical Corsa

Vauxhall has announced a new, cleaner version of its Corsa ecoFLEX which scrapes in below the 100g/km mark for CO2 emissions, an achievement matched only by a few other cars on the market.

The latest ecoFLEX has a revised 1.3litre turbodiesel engine that provides increased power (up from 75 to 95 horsepower) and torque (up 20 Newton-metres to 190 Nm) while at the same time delivering lower CO2 emissions (98g/km compared with 105 for the three-door version) and a combined cycle fuel consumption figure of 76.3mpg. Vauxhall's sugaring of the eco pill with that sort of power boost seems bound to be popular with motorists who would otherwise shun special economy models.

Pricing for the new Corsa ecoFLEXes will be announced closer to the January 2010 on-sale date.
