New Porsche unveiled ahead of Geneva Motor Show

Porsche has released pictures of the new 911 Turbo S ahead of its world debut in Geneva.

The company claims that it is the most efficient sports car in its performance class, returning 24.8 mpg (11.4 l/ 100 km) combined, identical to its little brother the Porsche 911 Turbo. Despite this, it can still achieve 0-62mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration in 3.3 seconds and boasts a top speed of 196 mph (315 km/h).

Porsche says that the car was developed as a response to customer demand for greater power and performance. As such, this top-end model comes with many of the optional features on the 911 Turbo as standard, such as Launch Control acceleration assistance, seven-speed gearbox and Porsche Vehicle Tracking anti-theft system. The model goes on sale from May 2010 priced from £123,263 (€140,590) in Coupe bodystyle and from £130,791 (€149,176) as a Cabriolet.

Mazda is also expected to reveal its new Mazda 5 at the Geneva Motor Show, one of the biggest events of the year. Also expected on the bill is BMW, which is thought to be readying the new M5, a high performance version of its 5-series, for a global debut at the show which runs March 4 - 14.
