London Contemporary Art Fair (Business Design Ctr, N1, 0171 359 3535, Wed to Sun). An expensive admission charge - pounds 10 - but you do see 80 galleries and their brightest and most persuasive artists. Focus this year will be on the young Britpack who were in the recent RA Sensation exhibition.

Head First (Leicester City Art Gallery, 0116 2540595, Tues to 28 Feb). Thirty-one portraits from the Arts Council collection. Artists include Lucian Freud, Gilbert and George, David Hockney and Maggi Hambling.

Princes, Poets and Paladins (British Museum, WC1, 0171 323 8525, Thurs to 13 Apr). Islamic and Indian paintings from the collection of the Prince and Princess Sadruddin Aga Khan.
