Shop Talk

The owners of Kitschen Sync got the idea for their funky kitchenware shop in Amsterdam a year ago when they stumbled across a shop selling plastic Mexican kitchenware. Kitschen Sync evolved as somewhere that is a pleasure to visit with atmosphere, music, quality products and plenty of fun bargains. The items on sale are chosen for their quirkiness and function and this is definitely not a shop that takes itself seriously. Prices range from 75p for a Fifties-style, polka-dot beaker to pounds 10 for the tray pictured above and up to pounds 2,000 for a restored, guaranteed Fifties fridge.

Kitschen Sync (0171-652 1070) is at 9 The Pavement, Clapham, London
