Birmingham is where people are most likely to request cosmetic surgery

Clinic Compare analysed a sample of 60,000 procedure requests (Rex)

Brummies are the most likely people in the UK to go under the surgeon’s knife for cosmetic purposes – with nose jobs topping the list of procedures.

More than a thousand people in Birmingham requested cosmetic surgery in 2014, with 51 of these opting for rhinoplasty.

The West Midlands city was followed by Leeds, where 795 people opted for plastic surgery, and Glasgow, with 791 requests, according to a new report. Manchester and Liverpool completed the top five.

Clinic Compare, a service which connects patients with a cosmetic surgery clinic in their area, analysed a sample of over 60,000 procedure requests to uncover trends across the UK.

When it comes to boob jobs, Liverpool leads the way, with 145 procedures requested in the past year. Birmingham came second with 131 requests, followed by Leeds with 128.

Meanwhile in the capital, Croydon was named the most popular London borough for breast augmentation.

However, Birmingham also took the top spot for weight loss procedures, with 42 people requesting bariatric surgery, followed by 40 in Glasgow and 33 in Leeds.

The latest figures come after the UK was ranked 14th in a report revealing the top countries in the world for cosmetic surgery. Figures released by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) earlier this year said there are an estimated 865 plastic surgeons working in Britian.
