Good Day for polygamy, as a Saudi man suffering from kidney disease had two of his wives battling for the honour of donating one of their kidneys to save his life. The hospital drew lots, which selected the second wife, but his first wife still maintained that the chance of donating a kidney should have been hers.

Bad Day for fidelity, as Peking zoo tried to determine the father of a giant panda cub born six months ago. The mother, Le Le, mated with two males and received artificial insemination before the birth. Keepers at the zoo say it is important to find out the true father to prevent possible future inbreeding, which could damage the quality of panda reproduction.
