Good Day for hamburgers, as trading began in ground beef futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. The CME already operates futures markets in pork belly, lean hog, butter and milk and also trades cash cheese. With over nine billion pounds of ground beef eaten in the US every year, a volatile market is predicted.

Bad Day for fidelity, as a survey in Brazil reported that 14 per cent of males say they use condoms, but only 4 per cent of females said they used them.

Poor Day for victims, as Donald Dingerson was charged in Florida with 11 counts of bank robbery. He had been stealing the money to pay restitution to victims of his previous crimes. His robberies generally took place on Mondays, except for one week when he was in jail for parole violation.
