Good Day for procrastinators, as the Academy of American Poets announced that they will be giving away free copies of TS Eliot's "The Wasteland" to people who file their income tax returns late at the end of this month. People lining up between 10pm and midnight in post offices on 15 April - the latest date for filing returns on time - will be eligible for a copy of the book of which the opening line is: "April is the cruellest month".

Bad Day for nuisance callers, as Tokyo police arrested a cartoonist on suspicion of making 24,000 prank telephone calls over the past three years to a magazine that had refused to publish his work. Other recent cases in Japan include a woman of 55 who phoned a former teacher 28,000 times in a year to complain about alleged mistreatment when she was at school, and a 42-year-old man who had called his ex-wife 113,000 times over a period of 17 months.

Productive Day for BA1444 flight from Dhaka to Heathrow on which a passenger, Shahana Choudhry from Birmingham, gave birth to a 6lb 2oz baby. The same BA1444 flight had also seen a baby born during the flight 13 months ago.
