Your last chance to eat out and save a fortune

For the same price as a copy of The Independent - 45p - we are offering you the chance to treat a friend to a meal, and then save 25 per cent every time you eat in selected restaurants.

The Independent is running this offer as an introduction to Transmedia, the restaurant card. All you need to do is collect four tokens from The Independent, and apply for a Transmedia card, as long as you hold a valid Visa, Mastercard, Delta or American Express card. This Transmedia card can be used in hundreds of restaurants in Britain as a payment card. You pay the full amount, and Transmedia will then refund 25 per cent of the bill directly to your Visa, Mastercard, Delta or American Express account, excluding VAT and service - for example, if the bill comes to pounds 100, you will be refunded pounds 25.

The card can be used as often as you like, for breakfast, lunch or dinner at any of the selected restaurants. Even better, when you use the card for the first time in conjunction with this Independent offer, the cost of one meal for a guest, up to the value of pounds 20, will be just 45 pence.

Transmedia are able to offer this excellent value as they pre-purchase food and beverage "credits" at a discounted price from selected restaurants, and then pass on the saving to the card-holder.

When you apply for this offer, you will receive a membership pack, which contains the Transmedia listings of hundreds of selected restaurants in Britain. Cardholders will receive an updated version every three months. Membership of Transmedia normally costs pounds 35 per annum, but with this offer you will receive six months' trial membership for free.

So if you would like to treat a friend to a meal for the price of a newspaper. Send your tokens in today.

HOW TO APPLY

Today we print the last dining token. Collect any four of the nine tokens and send them with the application form

attached, to the address below. In order to obtain your meal for 45p you must have a Transmedia card. You are only

eligible for a Transmedia card if you already hold a valid Visa, Mastercard, Delta or American Express card. The meal

must be taken before the end of April 1999. Independent/Transmedia UK Plc, 1 Hurlingham Business Park, Sulivan Road, London SW6 3DU. Tel: 0171 610 6226.
