Five-year fix at 7.99%

WOOLWICH's five-year 7.99 per cent fix is available on 90 per cent advances of at least pounds 15,000. The arrangement fee is pounds 275 and there are no compulsory insurances.

Norwich and Peterborough has launched a 5.49 per cent fix, lasting until 1 January 1995 for 80 per cent advances. The rate rises to 5.75 per cent on 90 per cent advances and 6.2 per cent on 95 per cent.

St Pancras Building Society is offering a six-month discount of 3 per cent off its current 7.99 per cent variable rate. This applies to both first-time buyers and other borrowers, but insurance must be through the society and there is a pounds 100 fee on completion.
