Investing in endowments

THE INVESTMENT banking division of Barclays, BZW, is launching a fund that invests in endowment policies. It will buy policies maturing eight to 12 years from now, at which time investors will be paid lump sums. The fund will issue shares, and investors who want to withdraw early will be able to sell these.
