Foreign & Colonial Investment Trust can be used to save for a pension. The setting up charge is pounds 100. The minimum investment is pounds 100 a month, pounds 1,000 a year, or a lump sum of pounds 5,000. It can be used as a basic personal pension or an additional voluntary contribution scheme, but cannot be used to opt out of Serps. A technical helpline is available on 0722 320102.
