Simon Read: We're all getting little too much information about pension reforms
For a change, there was little of note about pensions in the Autumn Statement. That was a bit of a relief. We're already going through the biggest shake-up in the pensions system for many decades – one that has left financial firms, and most people planning for retirement, scratching their heads as they try to work out the right course of action.
Don't get me wrong, the pension freedoms announced in March's Budget were great news. But the changes have led to a whole new world of confusing buzzwords that have made it harder to know what to do for the best.
We've had firms offering pension credit cards, and there have been warnings about pension liberation. Meanwhile, many of the bigger firms are working to launch pension passports. I've made a video explaining some of these terms, which you can watch at ind.pn/1zLQn8c.
