BRIEFS : Women at the bar

A conference entitled "The woman lawyer: benefit or burden?" is being organised on 8 April by the Law Society and the Bar. The Lord Chancellor, Lord Mackay, will give the keynote speech on judicial appointments and silk.

The other speakers at the one-day conference will include Kamish Bahl, chairwoman of the Equal Opportunities Commission. There will be an open-forum session which will be chaired by the Lord Chief Justice, Lord Taylor.
