Consumer complaints flood in
Complaints about water firms have risen by 30 per cent.
Around 240,000 people complained to the Consumer Council for Water (CCW) in the year to April – in nearly half of all cases about incorrect billing. Worst offenders were Thames Water, United Utilities and Severn Trent.
CCW chief executive Tony Smith said consumers wanted complaints dealt with properly first time.
