The Bargain Hunter: Join a collective and cut your energy bills
There were several warnings about rising energy bills this week, but you could cut the cost of heating your home by joining a collective energy group.
Cheaper Energy Together has been set up by a dozen charities, including Beat the Cold, Community First and Citizens Advice, and is run by the not-for-profit organisation thePeoplesPower to negotiate better deals.
Register by 31 March and you'll also be entered for a prize draw to win £350 towards your gas and electricity bills. You can sign up – with no obligation – at www.CheaperEnergyTogether.org
Discounted break is a family affair
This week's exclusive Bargain Hunter discount offers families the chance of a discounted break in the south of England. The Fun Day offer is for a family stay – two adults and two children aged 12 or under – at Marwell Hotel including bed & breakfast and use of the facilities, such as an indoor swimming pool and children's outdoor adventure play area.
The deal – at the Hampshire hotel near Winchester – is normally available at £79 but is offered to readers at just £69. Simply quote the code "Inde13" when booking on 01962 777681.
B&Q switches on an Easter DIY deal

At B&Q, for instance, until 11 April all indoor and outdoor lights are buy-one-get-one-half-price. The discount is added at checkouts and the offer excludes lightbulbs.
Cut-price cabinets in Magnet's spring sale
Meanwhile the kitchen specialist Magnet has a half-price spring sale with 50 per cent off all cabinets. Move quickly and you can get a free dishwasher and an extra 10 per cent off sale prices until 6 April. There are full details at www.magnet.co.uk
