With just eight shopping days left until Christmas, Toys R Us' 50 per cent off sale couldn't be timelier. Highlights include Animal Planets' Air Swimmer remote control toy (below), now £29.99, Transformers Dark on the Moon Optimus Prime figurine, reduced to £59.99, and a LeapFrog LeapPad Explorer tablet, now £79.99. While Toys R Us is cheaper than its rivals on all of the above, there are a few items in the sale that may cost less elsewhere. To get the best deal, I recommend using Money Saving Expert's MegahopBot tool to compare prices. You can find it at http://bit.ly/6Dau5K.
H&M discounts in store and online
H&M also launched a half-price sale this week, with discounts across all lines in store and online. In the menswear section winter coats can be found for as little as £19 and Dr. Marten-style boots down from £34.99 to £17.49. The offer will run as long as stocks last but remember all online purchases come with a £3.90 delivery charge. Find a full list of sale items at http://bit.ly/fQIr1Q.
Web deals for Visa cardholders
Visa Europe has launched a web portal offering deals and discounts exclusively for Visa cardholders in the UK. More than 40 brands have signed up to provide savings over the festive period, including Hallmark (30 per cent off all purchases) and Goldsmiths (15 per cent off all purchases). The portal can be accessed at VisaOffers.eu/uk or at Visa.co.uk/goldenspace and purchases must be made on a Visa card.
Three-for-two offers at WHSmith
Finally, WHSmith is running a three-for-two discount on selected books, gadgets, soft toys, puzzles and stationary both in store and online. Home delivery will cost £2.95 but I suggest avoiding the in-store pick-up option, which will set you back £1.95. Purchase your last-minute stocking fillers at http://bit.ly/w2ekqi.
