ARSENAL, Leeds United and Newcastle United, three of the Premier League's biggest clubs, were knocked out by First Division opposition on a remarkable evening of FA Cup fourth-round replays last night.

Arsenal, the holders, were beaten 3-1 at home by Bolton Wanderers, Leeds went down 3-2 at home to Oxford United and Newcastle lost 2-0 away to Luton Town. Of the 16 teams now left in the Cup, only seven are from the Premier League.

In the past 12 months Bolton have knocked Liverpool, Everton and Arsenal out of the Cup. Arsenal's defeat was only their second in their last 29 ties in knock-out competitions.

Leeds took their replay into extra time by scoring twice in the last two minutes of normal time, but Jim Magilton's goal gave Oxford victory.
