Blacks in US hit by Aids

THERE IS fresh evidence that Aids in the United States, once associated primarily with white gays, is increasingly occurring in the black population. Statistics from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention show that 57 per cent of new HIV infections between January 1994 and June last year occurred amongst black Americans. Blacks make up 13 per cent of the US population.
