Blairs to sell Islington family home
Tony and Cherie Blair are to sell their family home in north London because of security considerations, a spokesman for the Prime Minister said last night. The house is valued at around pounds 615,000.
News of the Blairs' plans appeared in today's Sun newspaper. A spokesman for Mr Blair said: "The family had hoped to stay in the house but it became clear this was an unrealistic proposition because of the cost to the taxpayer of securing it against terrorist attack, allied to the inconvenience caused to people living in the area."
