Bulgarian tornado hits village

A TORNADO swept through southern Bulgaria, injuring four people and leaving hundreds without shelter. The whirlwind hit the village of Zhaltusha, 190 miles south-east of Sofia, blowing tiles off 300 houses, lifting the entire roofs of another 15, and severing power-lines. About 1,000 of the village's 1,700 people were left homeless and have been evacuated to nearby villages.
