£31m dispute charge at Pilkington
Wednesday 05 April 1995
Pilkington is to take a £31m exceptional charge in its results for the year to March 1995 to cover the cost of settling a dispute with PPG of the US. Pilkington will pay back, with interest and other costs, the £21m it was awarded in September 1992 after alleging that PPG had violated float glass technology licensing arrangements. PPG, in return, alleged that Pilkington had violated anti-trust laws in the same area.
