DIRECT marketing and telephone marketing are likely to be the biggest growth areas in advertising and promotion over the next year, according to a survey of senior marketing personnel in 200 UK companies.

There will be cuts in advertising budgets, while sales promotion and public relations spending will remain static, predicts ADLINK, the computer- based direct and telephone marketing agency.
