STOCKS ROSE, helped by optimism that the government had clinched a theme-park deal with Walt Disney. The benchmark Hang Seng closed up 65.16 at 13,322.11. Traders said optimism over Disney helped prevent profit- taking from pulling the market into the red after Friday's almost 4 per cent rise, but the index capped below 13,400.

Hong Kong's chief executive Tung Chee-hwa will today announce the outcome of months of talks with Disney.
