Bunhill: The questioning bank

BARCLAYS BANK which, like the other clearers, is indulging in an orgy of staff cuts and branch closures, has seen fit to conduct a postal survey of customer satisfaction.

One despairing reader in the St Albans area, where three Barclays branches have closed, has just received her second questionnaire in the past few months. 'I'd like to say I was satisfied with the service if only there were any service,' she replied. 'Yours was a good little branch. I just can't see the wisdom of these closures. They're driving us into the arms of your competitors.' She promises to let me know if she receives a third questionnaire.
