Bunhill: The way Adam found the Faith
SO FAREWELL then, Adam Faith. My mum bought one of your records once but luckily never invested any money with Roger Levitt, with whom you were once associated.
Now readers of the Mail on Sunday will no longer have the benefit of your investment advice, but you have a curious connection with the Independent, dating back more than 30 years. It involves you and my colleague Nicholas Faith, who is otherwise no relation.
In the late 1950s, you were working as a film cutter in Wardour Street. A producer introduced you to Jack Gold, impressario of Six-Five Special and other pioneering pop shows. Gold liked your talent but not your name, then Terry Nelhams. Casting around for an alternative he thought of two friends - Adam Fremantle and Nicholas Faith. Hence Adam Faith.
