European Colour, the chemical colours manufacturer, advanced pre-tax profits to pounds 640,000 ( pounds 47,000) in the year to 31 March. Earnings per share improved to 1.35p (0.33p). It is paying a 0.525p final dividend, making 0.8p (0.65p).

Flextech, the media and communications group, incurred a pounds 1.6m taxable loss in the 10 months to 31 December. It incurred a pounds 2.9m loss for the six months to 30 September. Loss per share is 3.04p. It is paying a 0.5p dividend for the 10-month period.

Rolfe and Nolan Computer Services reported a fall in pre-tax profits from pounds 1.4m to pounds 1.2m for the year to 28 February, despite a 68 per cent increase in turnover to pounds 11.2m ( pounds 6.7m). Earnings per share rose to 17.7p (15.9p). The final dividend is 4.65p, making a total of 7.2p (6.2p).

Warnford Investments, the property investment group, announced lower pre-tax revenue of pounds 7.7m ( pounds 8.2m) for the year ended 25 December. Earnings per share eased to 13.65p (14.51p). Final dividend is 4.75p, making 7.5p (7.25p). Net asset value per share is 472.2p, up from the previous year's figure of 409p.

Six months to 31 March

Perpetual, the UK and offshore investment trusts manager, more than doubled pre-tax profits from pounds 2.2m to pounds 5.1m. Earnings per share are 13.3p (6.14p). Interim dividend is 1.8p (1.2p).

Whessoe, the instrumentation and control and piping company, revealed a slight fall in pre-tax profits from pounds 4.2m to pounds 4m. Overall, turnover rose 11 per cent to pounds 40.8m but sales of piping systems were 13 per cent lower. Interest charges were slightly higher while interest received declined from pounds 523,000 to pounds 277,000. Earnings per share slipped to 11.6p (13.7p). Interim dividend is raised to 2.3p (2.2p).
