City File: On the prowl
EXPECT news of a large acquisition in Continental Europe from ISA, the quoted computer, word processor and fax machine distributor. ISA is the only listed vehicle of its type on the London market, selling 3,500 products to more than 30,000 customers in 30 countries.
The purchase will come on the back of a firmer share price for the Birmingham-based group in the past month. ISA saw the recession early and pulled back on sales to some customers and has emerged with no debts and a strong balance sheet. Its largest subsidiary in Germany now accounts for 50 per cent of turnover, and has gained from a strong mark.
