Construction orders rise

Construction orders rose by a real 9 per cent in the three months to October over the previous three-month period after adjustment for seasonal influences. Orders in the latest three months stood 18 per cent above those a year earlier. New orders for private housing were up by 13 per cent, infrastructure orders shot up by 24 per cent and public housing and housing association orders edged 3 per cent higher.
