TOYOTA and Nissan, two of Japan's leading car makers, have joined forces to develop an electric vehicle, according to a Tokyo newspaper.
The move - which follows last month's announcement that the Big Three US manufacturers, General Motors, Ford and Chrysler, planned to co-operate on a similar venture - suggests that competition in the field may proceed along national lines.
