Small beer: Simon Redman, chairman of Greene King, the East Anglian brewer, disappointed investors with flat results for the six months to 31 October. Pre-tax profits were pounds 9.5m, just 1 per cent above the pounds 9.4m earned in the comparable period last year before the pounds 2.7m cost of the failed takeover bid for Morland. Shares in Greene fell 15p to 553p. Bottom Line, page 35.
