Home Counties weathers problems

The weekly newspaper publisher and customised envelope maker Home Counties Newspapers weathered rising newsprint costs and increased competition in the South-east to post pre-tax earnings for 1994 of £1.7m, sharply higher than 1993's £459,000, on turnover of £26.6m.
