LONGA LIFE Vegetarian Products of Brisbane, Australia, claims it has created the world's first hi-tech vegetarian prawn.

The ingredients include milk proteins, starches, gums and vegetable oils, processed to produce a heavy paste that is moulded into a prawn shape. When heated, the mock prawn, developed for the Japanese and Hong Kong markets, is said to acquire the texture of seafood.
