Innovation: Shock treatment
Scientists at Bath University have worked out the molecular structure of the bacterial toxin Staphylococcus aureus, which causes toxic shock syndrome, a severe infection notably related to tampon use. They say this will enable them to work out how the toxin acts in the body, and to devise a treatment.
