Innovation: Smart manoeuvre

THE French company Schlumberger is promising to end the problem of finding change for pay and display machines by introducing smart cards to car parks. Users will buy the parking smart cards in advance. The card is inserted into the machine and the length of stay selected. A ticket is then issued and the correct amount debited.
